PSOAS PSOAS PSOAS

YOU WILL NEED: block, bolster, inflated ball

This is all about the deep psoas muscle which runs from the lower ribs at the junction of your waist and rib cage and your inner thighs. It's a deep long connective tissue web of inner scaffolding that supports your spine to pelvis to leg relationship and is a key player in posture, alignment, stress, lower back pain, core function/dysfunction and more.

Learning to move with intention to release and lengthen and increase tone in this muscle group is a useful skill.

This class uncovers how you can use landmarks relating to the attachment areas of this muscle to your advantage when stretching, flexing and stabilising.

Pay close attention to how you feel before and after for greatest impact!

A BEAUTIFUL BALANCE PRACTICE

YOU WILL NEED: a chair, 2 domes, strap, 2 yoga blocks optional

This week we play with a common balancing position that shows up in yoga but also is part of the deeper understanding of standing on one leg, climbing stairs, reaching for things while on one leg.

Also it's a closer look at how you coordinate your anatomical parts to speak to each other and their working relationships.

The result is a clear sense of being in your legs and your hip muscles doing their job rather that the familiar compensation patterns of lower back, knees or neck.

This is definitely one to revisit for switched on hips and better balance not to mention bone and joint health for the long term.
